Thank you to everyone who joined us for Black Health: Past & Present, a special Juneteenth community conversation presented by Black Physicians of Utah, Beloved Community, and Kiln.
This event brought together community members to reflect on the historical and present-day experiences that continue to shape health outcomes in Black communities. Through meaningful dialogue and shared learning, attendees explored the connections between history, healthcare, wellness, and health equity.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Richard Ferguson, MD, MBA, President of Black Physicians of Utah, for his insightful presentation. Dr. Ferguson’s lecture highlighted the historical challenges that have influenced healthcare access and outcomes for Black Americans while also discussing current health trends, community resources, and opportunities to build healthier futures. His thoughtful perspective encouraged attendees to reflect on the past while working toward a more equitable future for all.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this important conversation. Events like these remind us that understanding our history is essential to improving the health and well-being of our communities. We look forward to continuing these conversations and advancing health equity throughout Utah.
