The Black Physicians of Utah created a clinical research opportunity for students to gain valubale clinical and research experience. The program is funded by the NBA Foundation to increase the number of Black scientists and doctors in the state. Each scholar shadows an expert in their corresponding fields who are BPOU preceptors. Research Opportunities for Pre-Med and Med Students

Dr. Guillaume Hoareau, PhD., D.V.M

University of Utah School of Medicine

Department: Emergency Medicine – Assistant Professor

Dr. Hoareau is a veterinarian with board certification in Emergency and Critical Care and a Ph.D. in Integrative Pathobiology. His research focuses on acute care translational research with an interest in military resuscitation. Specifically, he studies novel therapeutic approaches to mitigate ischemia-reperfusion injury in hemorrhagic shock.
